Banfield Shelter Motel, run by Transition Projects, is a low barrier shelter for medically vulnerable adults experiencing houselessness and was started during the 2020 covid pandemic.
Every second Saturday of the month, members of Central Lutheran Church make 55 bag lunches, which include sandwiches, a piece of fruit and a homemade cookie, and deliver them to the motel along with several gallons of milk.
The sandwich making is assembly-style, and we need 5-6 people to make it work. Please contact Sarah Carolus at scarolus3@gmail.com if you’re interested in helping prep the sandwiches and/or bring homemade cookies!
