Come Celebrate Our Beloved Carole

Carole Harmon is fading, and while we don’t know how long she is going to be with us, her capacity to engage and enjoy interactions is diminishing. Carole's children, Tasha and Rob, would like to try to celebrate her while she is around to enjoy it.

The vision is that there will be relatively small groups of people in the space, interacting in non-structured ways with the materials/displays, with Rob and Tasha, with Carole as she is able, and with each other. The structure we’re creating to accomplish this is a set of sign-up sheets, so we can know who is coming when, and limit the number of folks trying to be there at any given time. We are NOT planning speeches or presentations, though we are exploring gathering for food and/or music at one or more times.

HELP ORGANIZE CAROLE’S CELEBRATION

Roles will include:

Bringing food - snacks for the unstructured time, maybe potluck for a meal, still sorting it out

Food Managers - to set up the food, put more out as needed, tidy up after teach session

Photographers - we’d love to document this so it can be shared with folks who can’t be here

Carole Transporters - The event will be at Kairos UCC in Milwaukie, and we will need to get Carole back and forth from her residence to the church.

Help with set up and packing stuff up - This will need to happen on Thursday the 16th, on Saturday late afternoon/evening (so the congregation can use that space on Sunday), on Sunday evening, and on Tuesday.
